Ten years after his homage to cottaging in the exhibition “Fenster zum Klo”, Marc Martin presents a new balancing act between “decency” and “offensiveness.” A PIG IS A PIG IS A PIG is, first and foremost, an activist, rebellious project. Without inhibition, it tackles the last remaining taboos, provoking viewers by making so-called “dirty” sex visible.
For this project, photographer Marc Martin has surrounded himself with visual artists. Whether installations, illustrations, videos, drawings, sculptures, or paintings, they all have one thing in common: they do not glorify filth but rather denounce a certain idealization of the picturesque—of superficial glitz, glitter, and glamour.
